Performance upgrade Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 R232

707 PS (+122 PS) on production hardware with vehicle-specific Lambda‑GT calibration

From 585 to 707 PS. Reserve, not a change of character.

Lambda‑GT develops the Maybach SL 680 from 585 to 707 PS on its production hardware.

The Maybach SL shares its platform with the AMG SL but pursues a different goal: composure rather than sharpness. The additional power is therefore calibrated as a reserve – not through a deliberately sporty vehicle response. Lambda‑GT presents further stages under Performance packages.

Power delivery

122 PS more – smooth and without a noticeable peak.

Same platform, same power, different goal: the Maybach should feel not sportier, but effortless.

Boost pressure control and torque build-up are calibrated so that the power is delivered evenly and without a noticeable peak. While direct response is desired in the AMG SL, the focus here is on a smooth rise across a broad load range.

Calibration

Individual Calibration: tailored to the specific Maybach SL.

Within the R232 range, the Maybach is the rarest variant with the most distinctive data version.

Lambda‑GT reads out the data version of the specific vehicle and calibrates on that basis. An application from the AMG SL 63 is not adopted, even though standard output and engine control unit (Bosch MG1CP003) are identical: drive programs, calibration and character differ.

Protective functions

The Maybach SL 680's standard protective functions are not deactivated for the additional power.

Knock control, exhaust gas temperature monitoring, component protection and limp-home strategies remain part of the engine management.

In a car of this class, its long-term technical condition takes precedence over any additional tenth of a second. The additional power is calibrated within the intended operating limits.

Data status & release

Developed, tested and documented – for the Maybach SL 680.

Lambda‑GT develops a coordinated calibration base for the R232 and adapts it to the data version of the specific Maybach SL.

Changes are developed against defined targets for performance, driveability and thermal behaviour, verified by measurement and documented. On the Maybach, refinement is an equally important target.

Engineering Validation

The calibration is not released after a single power run.

After calibration, Lambda‑GT tests the Maybach SL under defined conditions: acceptance drive, power measurement, cold start, part load and extended steady cruising.

The assessment covers not only the power achieved, but equally whether the car remains as quiet as before in normal operation.

Dyno Verified

707 PS are measured on the specific vehicle – not taken from a data sheet.

Every Maybach SL 680 calibrated by Lambda‑GT is measured on the in-house dyno after calibration.

The certificate becomes part of the vehicle's documentation and remains part of its history.

Enquiry

707 PS for the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 – individually calibrated, validated and measured on the dyno.

The Lambda‑GT calibration for the R232 combines the performance upgrade on production hardware with vehicle-specific calibration, technical validation and documented power measurement.

The calibration can also be extended with further functions – such as adjustments to start-up and idle behaviour or defined sound functions. In the Maybach, Lambda‑GT deliberately sets up such functions with restraint. Examples can be found under Real vehicle projects and Personalised vehicle configurations.
